I had a chance to be one of the delegates of the GDG Devfest 2013 held at N Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. GDG or the Google Developers Group of Cagayan de Oro is the organizer of the said big event in the city. It was the first GDG Devfest in Mindanao and the 5th all over Southeast Asia. The event was a very good one and well organize by the youngest GDG Group in the country headed by Josan Dometita, a young talented graphic designer and programmer who founded the Cagayan de Oro GDG Group.
There were lots of talented speakers who came in from Manila and Singapore namely Chelle Gray of Google Southeast Asia Developer Relations and co-founder of GBG Phililppines. Ralph Regalado who is the SENTi Grand Winner on the Startup Weekend Manila 2013. Rolly Rulete, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of PageSnapp and Android developer of DOST Project NOAH Mobile App who just arrive from the U.S. attending the world competition of AngelHack and presented there latest project at the recent TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco. Loretta Tioiela – Co-Founder & CTO of Nhuke.Labs Singapore, and locally known programmers who also shared there latest and special knowledge of cutting-edge software and application development skills.
Google Southeast Asia is the major supporter of the said event as well as Google Labs, Aestrea Software Development who co-owned by one of the organizer Josan Dometita together with Bryan Chug which is also one of the speakers about Google mapping API.
